Why I send Valentines Cards

For once was a teenager, in that maelstrom of high school
Carnations on lockers, pressure from sideways
She never felt that cool
In college, E sent her an anonymous Valentine letter
and every year that aged teenager’s heart glows
as she sits and addresses her stack of endeavors
